John Carter Jr. scored 19 points, Sean Yoder added 15, and Men’s Basketball got its first win over a ranked team since the David Robinson era. The Midshipmen stunned No. 25 Virginia 66-58 in the season opener for both teams. Navy’s last win over a team ranked in The Associated Press Top 25 came on March 16, 1986, when Robinson led the Midshipmen past Syracuse. The Men host this Friday’s Veteran’s Classic doubleheader at Alumni Hall.  Richmond and Utah State will play in the first game while Navy takes on Virginia Tech in Game Two.  Wall-to-wall coverage begins at 5:45 on WNAV.

Meanwhile, Women’s Basketball’s Jennifer Coleman started her senior campaign with a strong individual effort as she recorded her 17th career double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds but the Mids lost their season opener with Georgetown, 73-62 last night at Alumni Hall.  They’ll hit the road for the first time this season and play Monmouth University Friday night.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Men’s Soccer fell to American 4-2 in the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals to close out their season while Football has a BYE this week…
