NBA/WIZARDS: Trae Young scored 26 points, Clint Capela had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and the Atlanta Hawks beat the Washington Wizards 118-111. Bradley Beal scored 19 of his 24 points in the first half for Washington, which had its three-game win streak halted and lost its fifth in a row at State Farm Arena.  They come home to host the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night.

NHL/CAPITALS: Andrei Vasilevskiy made 31 saves, Anthony Cirelli had a goal and two assists, and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat Washington 3-2 to end the Capitals’ eight-game season-opening point streak. Brett Leason got his first NHL goal and Conor Sheary also scored for the Capitals. Vitek Vanecek stopped 23 shots. Alex Ovechkin had his season-opening eight-game point streak end. He remains two goals away from tying Brett Hull, who has 741, for fourth place all-time.  They’ll stay in Florida and play the Panthers on Thursday night.
