Virtual Seminar Cut Short By Hackers

(Annapolis, MD)  —  A virtual open house for 911 call-takers and dispatcher applicants was cut short yesterday due to a hacker interrupting the session. Anne Arundel County Police said the orientation seminar ended when someone hacked the meeting and displayed offensive material to the participants. The incident finds the police department offering an apology to participants of the virtual meeting and apologizing to anyone who may have been offended by the inappropriate images. The department’s Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information into the case to contact detectives.
