Republicans say Kirwan board lacks diversity

There is a growing outcry for more equity and diversity on the Kirwan Accountability and Implementation Board of the statewide education overhaul. Gov Larry Hogan has asked the nominating committee for additional candidates as the current board only represents central Maryland. To reflect the diversity of the state critics say the board should have representation from PG County, from Latinos, also Western Maryland, Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore, among others.
