Holiday Season in Annapolis starts on Sunday

The Holiday season officially starts in Annapolis this weekend. The first event will see Santa Claus on a mission as the city’s Santa Run is scheduled for Sunday. Santa and some of his community friends and volunteers will help gather gifts for folks in need.  Last year Santa was practicing social distancing but this year the big guy will hit the streets once again.

Later on in the day, the Downtown Annapolis Partnership and the Annapolis Jaycees will be ringing in the holiday season with the Grand Illumination

The annual Christmas Tree lighting will begin at 4:30 Sunday featuring music, hot cocoa, crafts for the kids, and more. At 6 p.m. Chabad of Anne Arundel County will light the Giant Menorah across the street from the tree lighting to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah. There will be road closures in the area during the events.

Be sure to watch for police direction and road closures throughout the city.
