Foot Patrol Officers Make Arrest in Meade Village

(Severn, MD)  WNAV —  Anne Arundel County police officers on foot patrol in the Meade Village community in Severn saw a wanted man.  The Anne Arundel County Police Badgeman had an outstanding warrant for an alleged assault. Officers say when the subject saw them, he ran in the other direction.  He was captured, arrested, and charged. The subject was found in possession of a digital scale, 51 grams of suspected marijuana and112 suspected fentanyl pills.

Fentanyl is the synthetic opioid that is responsible for thousands of opioid overdoses.

Anne Arundel officers on foot patrol are in about every neighborhood.  The goal of “Community Policing”  is to meet residents; establish, grow and maintain those relationships. And when officers are needed in an emergency, a familiar face can make the difficult circumstance less distressing.
