Eastport High Rise Fire Displaces 10

(Annapolis, MD) – WNAV- A two-alarm fire on Severn Avenue in Eastport has displaced 10. Lieutenant Kenny White of the Annapolis Fire Department tells WNAV the fire started in the patio on the second floor. The cause is still unknown. Four of five condominiums are now un-inhabitable, in the structure that’s located across the street from the Eastport Yacht Club but a majority of residents were able to return to their homes.  The late-night fire forced occupants to evacuate that 6 story structure. Lt. White says the department gives thanks to the Eastport Yacht Club as well as  Pro-Tech LLC, located in that area, for opening their doors and offering shelter to those who evacuated late at night. Lt. White adds that there were working smoke alarms in the ediface.

One civilian was treated for smoke inhalation last night. The 10 displaced occupants were assisted by the American Red Cross.

Fire Marshalls and the building complexes management will be assessing damages today.
