Anne Arundel County Police Say Hanover Burglary is in Progress when Woman Returns Home

(Hanover, MD) WNAV — A woman returned home to discover an alleged burglary in progress at her house in Hanover just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14. When the suspect, who was holding a handgun, reportedly tried to flee the scene in his car, he discovered that the victim’s vehicle was blocking him in, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

County Police Department Spokesperson Marc Limansky said the suspect then fled into a nearby wooded area. Officers were reportedly able to establish a perimeter and order the suspect out of the woods without further incident.

Property belonging to the victim was found on the suspect and a search of the area turned up four handguns that were also taken from the victim’s residence and stashed in the woods, Limansky said. The 54-year-old suspect from Suitland has been arrested and charged accordingly.Anne Arundel County Police Badge
