Re: Office Manager/Traffic Director Position
A notice of Job Opening was posted and announced on May 27, 2005 for the full time position of Office Manager/Traffic Director.
After the search and interviews were conducted, Tammy Yon was hired for the position.
After working in the position for less than a week, Ms. Yon informed me that the job was not what she had expected and that she did not want to keep the position permanently. She agreed to continue only until another individual was hired.
In that we had just gone through the posting/announcement procedure one week prior, and feeling that the available pool of applicants had not changed, we did not re-post the position. We, instead, selected another candidate from the pool of individuals who had already applied.
Ms. Karen Rishar was re-interviewed on June 17th and accepted the position. Ms. Rishar started her employment June 27, 2005. After two days of over lapping schedules for training, Ms. Yon’s employment was terminated on June 28, 2005.

5 WNAV sustains an on-going internship program. This program incorporates
College students, high school students, broadcasting schools, as well as other individuals interested in learning more about careers in radio broadcasting.
Station has an on-going relationship with Towson State University, Southern High School, and the Broadcast Institute of Maryland and is a subscriber to the Building Bridge Program with Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
During this reporting period there were three internship participants. One a volunteer intern, another continued to gain experience to be applied to future course study at Florida State University. This experience enabled our intern to be selected to participate in his highly competitive chosen major. Another intern was from the Southern High School Professional Internship Program.
5 During this reporting period, WNAV continued a partnership with The Harbour School. This is an institution for the education of learning-disabled students. The program provides an opportunity for high school senior-aged individuals with an interest in media to shadow a radio professional. The purpose of this program is to see if the reality of the job matches expectations and to review jobs in which student has an interest. This is part of the “Transition” portion of the schools endeavor to prepare students for the business world. There were six separate visitation sessions involving two students on each occasion.
